Journalists are invited to attend ECTS 2017 in Salzburg. The ECTS welcomes registrations from journalists with relevant media credentials. However please note that no press facilities will offered during the congress and further details are given below.
An application form for press registrations will be available for download as of Monday, 3 October 2016.
Media representatives who satisfy the criteria below are invited to register for the congress.
Only members of the working press can attend. Identification is required. Freelance journalists must send a letter of intent from their editor and should also provide evidence of previous publications.
A free press registration will be issued free of charge to journalists (including freelance journalists) for recognised journals, magazines and news publications, news agencies, broadcast media and web publications.
Online media, medical publishing organisations, non-profit health care organisations and university publications representatives must meet the following criteria:
Representatives engaged in the following are NOT entitled to a free press registration but may register as a delegate: public relations, sales and marketing, advertising and commercial exhibitions (e.g. distributors, exhibition visitors).

We advise you to register in advance and reserve appropriate accommodation. The organisers are not responsible to make accommodation arrangements for journalists. Registered media representatives are required to wear their name badges at all times while in the meeting venue; no one is admitted to sessions without a badge.
ECTS reserves the right to deny meeting admission to any media representatives who do not abide by the policies described herein or who misuse these privileges by engaging in activities other than journalistic pursuits.
ECTS does not give, rent or sell on-site media registration lists. That information is considered proprietary.

If you are a photographer or accompanied by a photographer, please inform us and complete an additional press registration for each person on your team.
Photography, audio recording and videotaping inside the lecture rooms is strictly prohibited. Taking photos of posters presented at ECTS 2017 is only allowed with written permission by ECTS and the respective author.
An official permission form will be available in due course. If you require assistance in contacting the author for approval please contact email@example.com.
Media representatives are required to abide by the ECTS embargo policy. The embargo policy requires that coverage of abstracts, posters and other research being presented at the congress is prohibited until one hour after the presentation.
In order to protect the ECTS and congress brand from appearance of endorsement, the use of the ECTS name and logo as well as full congress name and logo may only be used after written approval by the organisers. Any news releases or articles need to include „This science/research was presented at ECTS 2017 in Salzburg, Austria“.
Mondial Congress & Events will secure a sufficient number of hotel rooms in 5*, 4* and 3* hotels at competitive rates.
Please note that due to Salzburg’s tourist popularity in spring and summer, early hotel booking is highly recommended!

Weather Conditions in Salzburg
In May, the weather is usually very stable, mild and nice with lots of stuff in bloom and often snow-white mountain tops to supplement the scenery.
The maximum temperature average reaches 19 degrees, the minimum average some 7 degrees Celsius. Salzburg in May enjoys six hours of sunshine per average day and a total of 13 days with rainfall.
Electricity & Time
The main voltage in Austria is 220V.
Salzburg is in the Central European Time Zone, Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) +1hour.
Shops are usually open from 10:00 – 19:00 from Monday to Friday and from 10:00 – 17:00 on Saturday.
On Sunday shops are usually closed, with the exception of souvenir shops. Grocery stores already open around 8:00 during weekdays.
Service is usually included in the prices in bars and restaurants. Tips are always welcome and usually 10%.
Banks & Local Currency
Banking hours in general are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 08:00 – 12:30 and 13:30 – 15:00, Thursday 08:00 – 12:30 and 13:30 – 17:30. ATMs are located outside most banks, cash can be withdrawn there 24/7. National and foreign Maestro cards (cash cards) as well as Mastercard, AMEX, Visa and Diners are accepted.
The official language of the congress is English. No simultaneous translation will be provided.
Payment of congress-related matters such as registration fees, tickets for networking programme will be handled in Euro (€) only.
You will receive a personalised badge when collecting your registration documents. During the congress, this badge must be clearly visible at all times and grants access to the scientific sessions, commercial exhibition and official networking events. Admission to the congress will not be allowed without badge identification.
Certificate of Attendance
For official delegates to the congress, a Certificate of Attendance is available at the registration desk.
We have a strict non-smoking policy at the ECTS 2017. Smoking inside the congress venue is prohibited. Smoking areas are available outside the main entrance of the congress center.
The congress organisers will not assume any responsibility for accidents, losses or damages, as well as for delays or modifications in the programme, caused by unforeseen circumstances. No claims for indemnification from the organisers shall arise for contractors or participants in case of cancellation, for any reason, of the entire Congress.
Delegates are advised to arrange a cancellation insurance for their congress costs (i.e. registration fee, travel or accommodation costs). A cancellation insurance offered by the „Europäische Reiseversicherung“ can be booked during the online registration process. The insurance sum also covers costs incurred for services which have not been booked via Mondial Congress & Events.
Passport and Visa
Please check passport and visa requirements in due time before your departure. Three month tourist visas are issued by Austrian embassies or consulates. They can take a while to be processed, so leave enough time before departure to apply. Fees vary depending on your nationality. There are no entry requirements or restrictions on EU nationals visiting Austria.

Travel Visa – Letter of Invitation
On request, the Congress Secretariat will be pleased to send letters of invitation to individual scientists. Invitations of this kind are intended to assist potential delegates to raise their travel funds or obtain visas. They do not imply any commitment or responsibility on behalf of the Congress to provide financial support. Please note that letters of invitation can only be sent after receipt of registration and payment of full registration fee.
Please note that Visa applications can take a while to be processed, so please send us your request for a letter of invitation in due time.

Arrival by Air
Salzburg Airport is located about four kilometres from the city centre. It takes 15 minutes to reach the historic city centre by taxi or public bus. Salzburg Airport is the arrival airport for many international airlines and low-cost carriers. Direct flights to Salzburg are available from Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hannover, Hamburg, Cologne/Bonn, Frankfurt, Leipzig-Halle, Amsterdam, Vienna, London, Manchester, Stockholm, Zurich and many other cities.
Due to the short distance between Munich and Salzburg, travelling from Munich Airport to Salzburg is very convenient as well. An excellent railway connection from Munich Airport via Munich East Train Station takes passengers to Salzburg in just 2.5 hours. Austria’s biggest airport is Vienna Airport. During daytime, ÖBB trains provide direct service between Vienna Airport and Salzburg Main Station twice an hour. The trip takes about 2 hours and 49 minutes. Railway timetables can be accessed directly at www.oebb.at
For delegates arriving in Vienna, the WESTbahn, a private railway company, also provides service between Vienna Westbahnhof and Salzburg Main Station every hour. Please visit www.westbahn.at for further information and the ticket shop.
Arrival by Train
Salzburg Train Station is a 5 minutes‘ walk from Salzburg Congress. Being close to the German border means that Salzburg has outstanding Eurocity, Intercity and ICE connections to cities across Europe. You can also catch a local or suburban train to Salzburg from most towns in the region.
Public transport in Salzburg
A dense network of trolley buses and the new suburban railway guarantee fast and uncomplicated transport in the city of Salzburg.

Arrival by Car/Coach
Austria’s expressway network reaches right into Salzburg, allowing a comfortable and convenient trip to Salzburg by car or coach from any point within the European continent.
Salzburg is at the center of the European highway network: the A1 Vienna-Salzburg, the A8 Munich-Salzburg and the A10 Villach-Salzburg all converge in Salzburg. Please remember to purchase a toll sticker for Austrian highways if you are driving to Salzburg. Parking at close quarters to Salzburg Congress is possible, for example at Mirabell-Kongress-Garage (entrance via Mirabellplatz) or Sheraton Garage (entrance via Auerspergstraße)
